On January 30, 2020 Gorillaz released a music and animated video series titled, “Song Machine”. In doing so Gorillaz is moving away from the typical/cyclical release of full albums. Instead they will be delivering “episodes” spontaneously throughout the year without any set schedule of release dates.
The first song of the series, “Momentary Bliss” was produced in collaboration with British MC Slowthai, and punk band/duo Slaves. All episodes of Song Machine will be produced in collaboration with other artists. According to Gorillaz the episodes will be produced by an “ever-evolving” team of collaborators. Nice!!
