Favorite Basses – 1980 Alembic Series II Short Scale Bass (SSB)

1980 Alembic Series II Short Scale Bass (SSB)

In this segment of our Favorite Bass Guitars series we highlight the 1980 Alembic Series II SSB Short Scale Bass. What a gorgeous bass! It’s one of the most sought after Alembic’s ever manufactured. It’s a short scale bass that was made famous by none other than Stanley Clark…

Alembic is famous for it’s use of exotic woods for sound and appeal. The Series II SSB is made out of striped Zebrawood with a 5 piece body & center core. It also has a neck-thru body constructed from 7 pieces of maple & purple heart. Alembic also matched its font & back heastock with a set of Zebrawood. It’s got stock Series II electronics with a dummy-humbucker center pickup that goes through a DS-5 power supply. Many claim this bass produces the ultimate bass tone.
