Bass Songs for Beginners – Come As You Are – Nirvana

Bass Songs for Beginners – Come As You Are – Nirvana –> “Come As You Are” is the 2nd single released from Nirvana’s “Nevermind” album. Released on March 2, 1992, it reached number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100, and number 9 on the UK Singles Chart. It was Nirvana’s last song to break the top 40 in the U.S. and top 10 in the U.K.

The bass line is relatively easy and would be a great song for beginners to learn. During the verse the bass line is walking back and forth between D and E. During the chorus 8th notes are played on the roots of E and G. During the break 8th notes are played the roots of A and C. Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic uses a pick on “Come As You Are”. This would be a good song for beginners to practice with using a pick.
